This is where I will go on my honeymoon...

JEJU LOVELAND
Jeju Loveland (also known as Love Land) is an outdoor sculpture park which opened in 2004 on Jeju Island in South Korea. The park is focused on a theme of sex, running sex education films, and featuring 140 sculptures representing humans in various sexual positions. It also has other elements such as large phallus statues, stone labia, and hands-on exhibits such as a "masturbation-cycle." The park's website describes the location as, "a place where sexually-oriented art and eroticism meet."

This place really exists. Trippy.

Thinking about defacing my temple...

So I have been discussing with some friends about getting a tattoo. I know a lot of people who have "ink" done and most of it I enjoy. I prefer intricate line work, solid black forms, and of course the most arbitrary juxtapositions of object, placement and body. Its a big commitment because if a tattoo holds a lot of significance you eventually grow desensitized to it and neglect its worth. Additionally, I feel a tattoo can orient a persons identity, swaying one into a different facet of society that may not represent them as a being but rather an image. Either way, I appreciate those who go out to get a tattoo for a joke, for aesthetics or simply to attach "permanence" to our semi-permanent vessels.

Here are some ideas I've had: (more to come)

A Christmas Competition

After waking up to another day of studying, and the overly dramatic Jeffrey Hackett going through all my text messages and then lying about it, I decided to post the photos of our recent gingerbread house competition. We still haven't decided on a winner.

#1: Colin: "A Winter Conversation"
#2: Tate: "We Are Monsters"

#3: Monique: "I Need to Rid Him of My Life"

#4: Roberto: "Can We Get it Delivered?"

Dear Hermie Island, I love you

Dear Hermie Island,

School is slowly coming to a close and Tate and I are beginning to plan our trip to Paris to visit our darling Lenny Pier Ramos (.com) With Christmas just around the corner, it has occurred to me that we need to re-decorate Hermie Island. We will start with fresh paint in the hallway, new artwork that we will carelessly show in frames on the floor, and of course new furniture stolen from Colin and Fiona's place. Here is a glimpse of what we are thinking of. Oh, and before I forget, Christmas will give us plenty of time to dazzle the blog with nonsensical do-dads in celebration of the coming of CHRIST i just stubbed my toe. Oh, and the negative energy is slowly seeping out of the island... perfection is in sight.

Many consider B.K.S. Iyengar, now 94 years of age, to be yoga's most proficient and knowledgeable practitioner—an inspiration to countless students and yoga practitioners around the globe. Over the course of seventy-four years of teaching, he has developed an innovative and inspired method, which is taught under his name. This method is not only one of the world's most widely practiced; its principles are now incorporated into the teaching of yoga under many names, as well as other forms of exercise, therapy, and movement.
